Hashi's - A Natural Disaster of the Thyroid?

ree

In the location I practice, I find there are a lot of providers who do not seem to understand the complexity of thyroid. While everyone should be aware that most of our body systems are affected by many variables, it does seem to be lost. Hashimoto's thyroiditis in my opinion is where we see significant variant in the thyroid levels from time to time. Thyroid levels are impressionable. If you check today and tomorrow (which isn't frequently done) you will likely see different numbers. I feel that we should be trending this information. If the patient isn't feeling well, even if the numbers are good then we need to look at labs outside of the TSH. In practice, I have found that variables such as weight loss, vitamin levels, exercise, and more impact TSH levels. Some medications help stabilize TSH levels better than others. If you need someone to investigate your thyroid more, then please reach out so that I can assist. Hashimoto's is an autoimmune disease. Autoimmune diseases are unique and require provider awareness and knowledge.
